Simple Christmas decoration

Image
Today is First Sunday of Advent and this means that our family stars decorating for Christmas. We probably won't decorate the tree yet, but I will decorate the windows. Today I want to show you this simple christmas decoration for window which takes less than 5 minutes to make! For this simple christmas decoration I used a glass vase and battery operated gold star LED fairy lights. We purchased these lights from Tesco last year because they were the finishing touch for our livingroom window decoration, but since this year I have another plan with windows then I couldn't really figure out where to use them.

Last minute Mother's Day card idea

Image
In Estonia tomorrow we celebrate Mother's Day. This year we are away from Estonia for Mother's Day and so a week and a half ago we, with little mr.R, made a simple card for my mom that she actually already received in the post yesterday :) For this card you'll need: card blank finger paints coloured paper scissors glue Before starting don't forget to cover the table and toddler's clothes, because it will probably get messy :D let the toddler do a hand print on the card blank using green finger paint <- this will be your flower pedicle using rest of the colors let the toddler do flower buds using finger prints let the flower dry :) Once the flower has tried cut out a shape of vase or flower-pot and glue it on the card. Easy! Little mr.R enjoyed the finger paints a lot and created three more pictures after we had finished the card :)

Simple DIY snowflake

Image
I like snowflakes and the last 4 or 5 years I´ve used paper snowflakes to decorate windows for Christmas. The photo below is from last year - this was how I decorated little mr.R´s room window. Today I´ll show you how to make a simple paper DIY snowflake. Mulle meeldivad lumehelbed ja viimased 4-5 aastat olen neid kasutanud jõuludeajal akende kaunistamiseks. Allpool olev pilt on tehtud aasta tagasi väikese mr.R toa aknast, kus kasutasingi põhiliselt vaid lumehelbeid. Täna näitan aga teile kuidas ma neid lumehelbeid teen.  So for making this DIY snowflake you will need: paper (I used printer paper) pencil scissors Nende lumehelveste tegemiseks läheb vaja: paberit (mina kasutan tavalist printeri paberit) pliiatsit kääre   How to make simple DIY snowflake: If your paper is already square-shaped then you can skip steps 1-3 and start with step 4 :) I usually skip steps 7 & 8, because I have just made so many snowflakes that I don´t have to draw the s...

Cherry Cake vol 2

Image
Last night I made a cherry cake . Since I´m in the UK now then I can´t use exactly the same ingredients as in Estonia any more and so I changed the recipe a bit. So for my cherry cake vol 2 you will need: Chocolate Fudge Cake Mix ( I used Wrights Chocolate Fudge Cake Mix 500g) soft cheese ( I used Philadelphia Light Soft Cheese 2 x 280g) 60-70g unsalted butter 3 eggs ~ 500g frozen or canned cherries ~1dl of sugar and some vanilla Preheat the oven 200C. Mix cake powder and unsalted butter so it becomes crumbly. Next mix soft cheese, eggs, sugar and vanilla and then add cherries. Put grease-proof paper into the cake pan and then add 2/3 of the butter & cake powder mix into the cake pan. Then add the soft cheese & cherries mix and butter an...

I like sewing ...

Image
When I was about 15-16 years old then I absolutely loved sewing. But last 5-6 years I haven't sewn  much any more. Probably because I don't have sewing machine and so if I want to make something then I´ll have to go to my mom's house and use her machine. Her machine basically actually belongs to antiques since it is 36 years old Tsaika, but it works very well and so my mom hasn't seen no point of getting a new one. I had to finish a couple of "projects" and so yesterday I finally took some time to finally finish them. Firstly, I had to alter some pillowcases, which are just way too huge for our pillows. I usually don't purchase bedding sets that contain pillowcases that are too big, but this time I made an exception because I just loved this bedding set's design. Secondly, I finally finished altering one of my skirt's. I started with this project like three years ago, but couldn't finish it then and so yesterday I did it :) (hopefully you...

DIY Scarf Hanger

Image
Hi! Today I have a little bit different post for you :)  From blog Greyhounds In Pajamas  I found this brilliant and simple idea for DIY scarf hanger.     Hei! Blogist Greyhounds In Pajamas leidsin selle lihtsa ja geniaalse sallide hoiustamise idee.       So doing it is very simple. You need hanger and shower curtain rings. Attach shower curtain rings to the hanger. Pane dušikardina rõngad riidepuu külge. And then add your scarves :) Ja siis lisa sallid :) And ready! I just love this idea and I am happy that I found it and now storing my scarves is so much easier.
