A Scent of Luxury, a Stain of Disappointment – Native Lilac & White Tea Deodorant

August 13, 2025 By Miss L 2 Comments

Hello, lovelies and welcome back to Beauty by Miss L! Today, I’m excited to share my experience with Native Lilac & White Tea Deodorant. As someone who is always on the lookout for effective and skin-friendly deodorants, I had very high hopes for this one. Native has a reputation for creating products with clean ingredients and amazing scents, and the idea of a deodorant that smelled like a luxurious floral bouquet was incredibly appealing. I mean, who doesn’t want their underarms to smell like a fancy garden?

Let’s start with the brand promises, because these are what initially drew me in and probably what’s caught your eye too. Native makes some pretty big claims about their deodorants, and I was eager to put them to the test.

First up is the 72-hour odor protection. This promise claims the deodorant effectively controls odor for up to 72 hours. While I didn’t test it for a full three days (a girl has to shower, right?), I can confirm that it kept me feeling fresh all day long. Whether I was running errands, working out, or just having a busy day, I didn’t have to worry about any unpleasant smells. It performed beautifully in this regard, and that’s a huge plus.

Next, the brand proudly states that their deodorant is aluminum-free, paraben-free, and phthalate-free. As someone with sensitive skin, I’m always cautious about the ingredients in my beauty products. The thought of using a “clean” deodorant that won’t clog my pores or irritate my skin is a major win. This commitment to using naturally derived ingredients is one of the main reasons I decided to give Native a try.

The scent is another key selling point. The Lilac & White Tea scent is described as having “light, watery floral notes topped with white tea and citrus that smell like luxury.” And let me tell you, this is absolutely spot on. The scent is divine—delicate, fresh, and not at all overpowering. It’s like a gentle whisper of spring. This was probably my favorite part of the whole experience. The fragrance is truly lovely and makes you feel a little bit pampered every time you apply it.

Native also emphasizes that their products are cruelty-free and vegan, meaning they are never tested on animals and contain no animal-derived ingredients. This is a crucial factor for many conscious consumers today, including myself. Knowing that a brand is ethical and committed to these values makes me feel good about my purchase.

Finally, they boast over 150,000 5-star reviews, highlighting a large number of happy customers. This statistic, more than anything, built up my expectations. With so many positive reviews, I was convinced I was about to discover my new holy grail deodorant.

My Personal Experience: The Highs and The Lows

Now for the real talk. My personal experience with the Native Lilac & White Tea Deodorant was, in many ways, a tale of two halves.

Let’s start with the positives, which were quite significant. As mentioned before, the scent is absolutely delightful. It’s easy to apply, gliding on smoothly without feeling sticky. And most importantly, it truly keeps odor at bay for the entire day. I could go from morning to evening without a single worry. Even after a long, active day, I felt fresh and confident. Another huge bonus for me is that it didn’t irritate my skin at all, even when applied right after shaving. This is a common issue for me with many other deodorants, so this was a major relief and a big point in Native’s favor.

However, and this is where my disappointment begins, there is a significant negative that I simply cannot overlook: the staining. Unfortunately, this deodorant leaves marks on clothes. It’s not just a subtle residue; it’s a noticeable and stubborn stain. On my dark-colored clothes, it left white, streaky marks that fortunately were quite easy to remove. But even worse, on my light-colored shirts, the underarm areas started to develop dark, permanent stains. I tried various laundry hacks and special stain removers, but unfortunately, these stains have not come out. This is a huge deal-breaker for me. The idea that a product designed to keep you fresh is simultaneously ruining your clothes is incredibly frustrating. I expect a deodorant to protect me from odor, not to damage my wardrobe.

Final Thoughts and Verdict

In conclusion, I had very high hopes for the Native Lilac & White Tea Deodorant. It promised so much—a luxurious scent, clean ingredients, and long-lasting protection. And in many ways, it delivered. The scent is amazing, it’s gentle on my sensitive skin, and it’s genuinely effective at controlling odor. However, the one major flaw of leaving stains on my clothes completely overshadowed all the positives. A deodorant that ruins your favorite shirts is not a product I can recommend, no matter how good it smells or how clean its ingredients are.

Ultimately, I am disappointed. I had a lot of faith in Native deodorant stick, but this product just didn’t live up to my expectations. Unfortunately, I will not be repurchasing this deodorant. It’s a shame, because it has so many great qualities, but the staining issue is a deal-breaker.

Have any of you tried Native deodorants? Did you have a similar experience, or did you find a way to prevent the staining? I’d love to hear your thoughts in the comments below!
