Activewear – comfortable, stylish, and not only for the gym.
You know, one of my goals for 2021 was to exercise more again. From 2013-2014 I was super active and worked out like crazy! Seriously! Like whenever I had some free time I went out jogging or spent time in group training. For example I absolutely loved BodyPump. And I was in excellent shape. I think I have never been that fit before or after that.
At the moment I weigh about 6-9kg more then I weighed back than and I’m just kind of mad at myself that it’s so hard to find the time (and sometimes motivation too) to actually get back that shape – to be as fit as I was then. Losing that extra weight is one of my goals. And fitting in some of those beautiful dresses that are sitting in my wardrobe waiting for that miracle is one of those motivations.
In a way, it’s really weird how I actually manage to get rid of 2-4kg, and then something happens and I’m again back at where I started … Well, although it is difficult with two kids and that distance learning, that started again from last week, makes things even harder, I’m determined to achieve my goal. I just have to!
And what would be better motivation than some new workout clothes? I haven’t bought new workout clothes for a few years now. I have bought some activewear to wear at home though, but not really anything to wear when I go jogging or cycling. I like wearing leggings and tees at home because they are comfy. Usually, slouchy sweatpants just aren’t my style because (I think) they make me look even bigger than I actually am and so I prefer wearing leggings.
When it comes to activewear then I like
- good quality
- good fit
- comfortable
- pockets!
- good material
- something special (reflective details, eye-catching details, special print etc)
- sustainable materials
When it comes to my jogging outfits then pockets are a must! Why? Well, I need a place where to keep my phone (and holding it in my hand while I jog is something I don’t like) and I also need another pocket where I can keep my keys. For some reason finding activewear bottoms and tops that would have pockets isn’t very easy. I understand do understand why but still – where do I put the stuff I want/need to take with me?
Oh well, the newest discovery for me in the workout wear world are Dona Jo fashion-forward garments. Dona Jo activewear features quality and technology mixed with comfort and perfect fit. Everything is constructed with flat seams for a comfortable, chafe-free workout. The fabric is also promised to protect you from UVA and UVB sunlight. Plus, all Dona Jo products include a reflective logo for a finishing touch. I must say it sounds really promising and basically seems to tick all the boxes for me. Oh, and I’m happy to say that Dona Jo leggings and capris, and skirted leggings come with pockets! Yay!
My Dona Jo wish list
From Dona Jo leggings selection I found exactly what I wanted – a pair of cool-looking leggings with a pocket that would fit my phone. I just love the design of the Metro Leggings (Esqueleto) and the combination of black and Esqueleto/Sugar-Skull/Dia De Los Muertos print.
I can never have too many pairs of black leggings and so another pair leggings on my current wish list is this pair of black Power Leggings (black Luxer). These Dona Jo leggings have a high waistband, flat seams, deep side pockets, and mesh details. Before kids, I wasn’t a fan of high waist leggings but now – I prefer high waist leggings any time over low waist ones.
And these colourful printed JoJo Capri 2.0 (Artsy) look just so amazing! I can’t believe that I’m actually considering such a colourful pair of leggings but these just look so cool.
Do you prefer wearing skirts and dresses whenever possible – then Dona Jo skirted leggings are for you! I found some really cute ones from the Dona Jo selection, but I think I might need these Dona Jo Skirted Capris (Black Polka Dot/Blk) in my life! Oh and if I should start playing golf one day (I have been thinking about it for a few years now 😉 ) then I also found some cute golf skirts from the Dona Jo selection.
Comfortable and stylish jackets are always great addition to any activewear wardrobe and I think this cute Wave Jacket would be a perfect for both going walks with my 2.5-year-old and for light jogging.
And some more pink! I like pink and this Day Glow Tank looks just so me! I like its simple design and the added length at the bottom. I prefer my tops being longer and so this tank top would be perfect for me.
So these were some of my favourites from the Dona Jo activewear selection. There are actually so many more pieces I would love to have, but these are the ones that stood out the most for me so far.
Do you like activewear? Is it something you wear daily or only when you are working out? Have you tried Dona Jo workout wear? If not would you try it? Let me know in the comments 😉
