When you research hair care tips online, you’re undoubtedly always going to find more information about women’s hair than men’s. Granted, the two are different and women often pay more attention to their hair.
But, that doesn’t mean every guy is content with using the same bottle of shampoo and conditioner and calling it a day.
If you’re a guy (or you know your boyfriend/husband is interested in healthy hair), you should be taking care of your hair and scalp. That means knowing how and when to wash your hair, which products to use, and how to keep it healthy by forming better daily habits.
Far too often, men focus on everything from their fitness levels to what they’re going to wear to look good. Why not go for the complete package and have a great head of hair, to boot?
With that in mind, let’s look at three helpful hair care tips you can use to get awesome, healthy, touchable hair quickly.

-
Less is More
One of the biggest mistakes men make is using too much product in their hair. If you want to style it a certain way and keep it in place, that’s understandable. But, in most cases, a little product goes a long way.
If you’re piling on styling creams and gels, you could actually risk getting dandruff or causing a condition on your scalp. Too much buildup can clog the hair follicles in your scalp and cause fungi to form, or inhibit hair growth.
-
Know When to Wash
How often should men wash hair? In most cases, about three times a week. Washing your hair too often, especially when you’re using hot water, can cause your scalp to dry out, creating hair that looks brittle, dry, and damaged. Your scalp might even start to itch, which can cause flaking.
One exception, of course, is if you sweat a lot each day. Whether you just naturally perspire or you workout every day, you should be showering daily to get rid of that sweat and to stay clean. Otherwise, skip washing your hair a few days a week when you’re in the shower. It will look and feel so much healthier.

Pat Your Hair Dry
What’s the first thing you do when getting out of the shower? If you reach for a towel and start rubbing it all over your head to dry your hair, hit pause! You might think that “rubbing” your hair will dry it faster. But, when your hair is wet, it’s weaker. That means it’s easier to damage it, and the rough movements of rubbing a towel against it can cause strands to break. If you’re struggling with thinning hair, that could cause big problems!
Instead, try to pat your hair dry with a towel. It might take a bit longer, but it will keep your hair protected and reduce the risk of it breaking. As a result, you can enjoy thicker, fuller hair.
Again, if you’re a man, don’t ignore your hair health. It’s such an important factor in your overall wellness and grooming, so keep these tips in mind and enjoy your own lucious locks!
