Is It Time To Get Serious About Your Money?!

euro coins and budget

Being an adult is hard. One day it seems like you wake up with a ton of responsibilities, and you’re thrown into adult life. Your old life of what you now know to be minimal worries is gone. Instead, you’re an adult with perhaps a car to run, a home to live in, a little family of your own. The list of things that you might have acquired along the way will only keep on growing. With all these new additions and all the different ways that life can change, it might be time to get serious about money. We wanted to talk about this because we know how easy it is to not be serious about money. We also know how common it is for adults to be in debt due to the pressures of life. If you know you’re not as financially stable as you could be, or perhaps you think you should start thinking about where you can put the money you have, this is the article for you. Keep on reading to see what we think you should be doing.

The Pains Of Managing Money

Managing money definitely isn’t something that you are going to like doing. Some people spend days planning their money, rewriting it as soon as something changes, and planning some more. It can become almost obsessive if your money is tight, and you feel like you always have to watch it. We think it’s a lot harder because most of the things we do, we pay for by a card. So it’s hard to track your money because you’re not aware of how much you’re spending when it’s not physically in front of you. Once your bills have come out, why not try withdrawing the money that you need to spend for the week, so you know what you’re spending! It’s so much easier to manage that way.

When managing your money, you might want to look at all of the outgoings that you do have. Again, with outgoings, it’s so easy to miss what you’re paying for. There are many subscriptions and services that might not be needed. If you have multiple TV subscriptions, it might beg the question of whether you need to cancel a few! It would also be wise to try to cut down on your bank account fees and go with a banking service that is more socially conscious. I recommend checking out Aspiration bank reviews to make a considered decision and save money on your monthly/yearly bank fees.

You might also want to think about where you shop and how you spend your money freely. If you’re always buying expensive brands at the supermarket, try buying supermarket own brands, or shopping at discount stores. There are plenty of things you can do to manage your money and get your outgoings coming down.

When Life Gets In The Way

Life can get in the way. Think about what has been happening in the world as of late. Some of you might have temporarily lost your job, or even lost your job permanently and have had to quickly find a new one. Or, you might have a string of events happening lately which means you’re digging into your pocket. Sometimes life just throws stressful financial situations at us! So the key to getting serious about your money is getting serious about saving and preparing for times like that. The more you have to fall back on, the less stressful it is when something does come along. We know how annoying it can be to try and save and how hard it can be, so we’d recommend using the help of apps. Apps are a great way of managing your money and having savings separate from your bank account. There are plenty of trusted savings apps that will take money from your bank account, but allow you to put it back just as easily. But the temptation is not as strong as if it’s not physically in your bank accounts savings account.

Put Your Money Into Something

Why not think about putting your money into something you know you’re going to get money back from eventually. You might have been really sensible with your money throughout your life, and the reason you need to get serious about your money is because you need to put it into an investment. If you do have some savings, or perhaps an inheritance, and you want to put it into something that’s guaranteed to give you money back, property!

More and more people are realising the value in investing in property. All you have to do is check out a loan calculator to see how much you could get towards a mortgage. Once you have that all you’d need to do is rent it out for the many years to come and eventually you’d have a property with a mortgage paid off and ready to sell, you’ll always be making a profit because all you did was pay the initial deposit. Property really is a great one to get into! There are so many other investment routes that you could go down, you just have to find one that suits you and your needs. We know that property isn’t for everyone!

Money Mistakes

It’s so easy to make money mistakes. The first is to make sure that you’re staying away from borrowing money to get yourself out of a financial problem. Borrowing money and getting into debt is such a risky move, but we know that some situations are unavoidable. What we would say is to make sure that you’re exhausting all options beforehand. Make sure that you try and cut back on your spending in every way possible. We’d also stay away from binge spending, which again we know is really easy to do. That’s where you’re going to find being stricter with your money plan is going to come in handy. If you can budget yourself a certain amount of money to spend each week on luxuries, it’ll prevent your spending a ton all at once!

We hope that we’ve given you some great tips to show you how to get more serious about your money and to hopefully be smarter with it too!
