How is your Christmas preparation going? Although our family starts decorating for Christmas on the 1st Advent or on December 1st then this year we started much earlier. A week ago we put up our Christmas lights. I’m pretty happy with the result but we going to add some decorations in a few days. It seems that some kind of competition has begun between neighbors – everyone adds something extra to his house so I can’t wait for Christmas time when everyone have finished decorating their houses.
My family loves gingerbreads and so on Friday, we made this year’s first batch of gingerbread cookies. They were super delicious! This time we used store-bought gingerbread dough but I am thinking of making my own dough. When I was about 15-16 then I actually made the dough myself and the final result was always perfect. Unfortunately, I have misplaced the recipe I used back then so I now have to go through all my cookbooks to find that gingerbread dough recipe.
When it comes to the Christmas tree then at the moment we are planning to put it up on the 1st of December. For the last 7 years, we have used artificial Christmas tree. Although I love that special smell of the real tree then, in my opinion, a good quality artificial tree is a better option because you can reuse it for many years and there’s less cleanup to do once it’s time to take down Christmas tree.
I have also started buying Christmas gifts and those tiny gifts that elves bring from 1st to 24th of December. (In Estonia, children put their socks or slipper on their window sill and “elves” come and put tiny gifts or sweets in it.) I have all the gifts for my 7-year-old and I have a couple of gift ideas for my 1-year-old. I’m going to make customized calendars with the photos of our boys for my mom and my mother-in-law. At the moment I still have no idea what to get for my hubby for Christmas.
The end of November and the start of Christmas time also means that the weather is getting colder and colder (we had -9C this morning!). Therefore it is time to take out all those knitted sweaters and dresses. The newest addition to my collection of knitted clothes is this knitted mini jumper dress from Femme Luxe. Cream Knitted Bat Wing Mini Jumper Dress – Lipton is a simple mini dress that you can pair with leggings and comfy flat boots or with a pair of over-the-knee boots and a nice belt. I decided to get my dress in shade cream although that color looks pretty white for me in real life. This knitted jumper dress is also available in black, dusky pink, stone and grey.
Since this is a mini dress and I’m rather tall (175cm) then this knitted mini dress is a little bit too mini for me. But that doesn’t really stop me from wearing it because I can pair it with leggings or jeans or trousers. This time I paired the knitted dress with a pair of simple black H&M leggings. And my black and grey leopard print socks seemed like a great idea 😀 I don’t own many leopard print things but when I saw these socks then I just had to have them. I have no idea from which brand they are because I bought them from a local hypermarket. I’m probably going to buy a pair or two the next time I go there because they are comfy.
My comfy outfit
- Cream Knitted Bat Wing Mini Jumper Dress – Lipton from Femme Luxe
- black high-waist cotton leggings from H&M
- black and grey leopard print socks
- mix of bracelets

Leelo, you look adorable and so very comfortable and cozy for holiday festivities. We just put up our Christmas tree last night because we are going away for the week and I wanted it up when we got home.
