I have always loved jeans! Jeans are kind of like my uniform. They are comfy and a pair of good fitting jeans with a top or blouse just makes me feel great and confident. The perfect pair of jeans will hide what needs to be hidden and will enhance what needs to be shown off. I love that I can wear jeans all year round. I can pair them with simple tops and add a pair of sneakers for casual daily looks. Or add a blazer and high heels for night out.
I remember my very first pair of jeans back when I was around 10 years or so. I wore them almost daily until they became too destroyed and my mom threw them away. But after that pair came another and another and another … And I can’t really imagine my wardrobe without at least one pair of good fitting jeans.
It’s surprising how much the jeans trends have changed during that time. My very first pair of jeans were so-called “mom jeans” – but that’s what everyone wore back then. Then, at some point the rise of my jeans became lower and lower and then it started getting higher and higher again 😀
Then there’s the leg opening. My jeans have changed from straight to wide to bootcut to skinny to flare. And I have actually worn these all. I remember when I was at university then my jeans had to be low rise and bootcut. I didn’t even imagine wearing anything else then that combo and here we are now …

At the moment I like my jeans regular or high waist because that’s comfy – especially because I’m a mom of two boys and so I have to constantly bend down, sit down, get up and chase my older one and soon the smaller one too once he starts walking. And when it comes to the leg opening then I prefer straight or skinny, although, some bootcut jeans look pretty cute too.
I like that nowadays you can choose between so many denim styles and colors and so everyone can find what suits their personal style, lifestyle and budget. Currently I’m actually loving a few pairs of slim mom jeans on www.tally-weijl.com. Those budget-friendly jeans will look amazing with my favourite tees, tops and blouses and so I can imagine myself wearing them from day to night every day.
Denim Trends 2019
Side Stripe Jeans
Those side stripes makes your regular jeans look more fun and sporty.
Print Denim
Denim doesn’t have to be just blue, black or white. Jeans with colourful prints are versatile and you can pair them with simple white or black tee or blouse. [show_shopthepost_widget id=”3492565″]
Embroidered Denim
Embroidery always looks feminine and I like how it adds this little special to a simple pair of jeans. You’ll find something for every taste – you can choose between highly embellished or just lightly accented pieces or just something in the middle. Just pair with you favourite blouse or top and you are ready to go. [show_shopthepost_widget id=”3492475″]
Low Rise Jeans
Low rise jeans are coming back. I didn’t see that happening that soon, but oh well here they are now. Luckily the new version of low rise jeans come with wider legs and looser fits and not as tight are flared as they were back in the 2000’s. [show_shopthepost_widget id=”3492509″]
So these were some of my favourite denim trends for this year. Do you like jeans? Which is your favourite denim trend (or which one you absolutely hate)? Let me know in the comments!

Not really thrilled about the low rise coming back in style. The looser fit sounds nice. Like the stripe down the side and different colors of jeans.

I’m such a jean girl and I’m glad to see so many different styles of jeans. My favorites are high waisted skinny jeans. My least favorite is boyfriend jeans because it just looks like my jeans are too big and I look weird in them.
MELANIE EDJOURIAN says
Yes, I do love jeans too. I used to wear them all the time before having children. I hope to wear them again soon 🙂
Amber Myers says
I never follow trends, but I do love wearing jeans. It’s basically all I wear since I’m not a fan of dresses or skirts. I have a pair that’s like 3 years old that I reach for most of the time.
Melissa Chapman says
So many great variations to my favorite denim jeans. I tend to keep it simple but it is a lot of fun to know the latest style in a classic look like jeans.

I’m such a denim girl. When I’m not wearing denim, I’m wearing yoga pants. It’s pretty much all I own.

Fun trends! These days I wear a lot of jeggings and skinny fit styles. I’ll have to be on the lookout for an embroidered pair.
Lisa Martin says
I love my blue jeans! But I’m just a classic plain Blue Jeans kinda gal. Nothing fancy. Although I do love my skinny jeans.
Terri Steffes says
I’m a big fan of jeans. I am hard to fit, so once I find a brand I exhaust their supply! I love the stripe down the leg.
Beth says
I wear jeans almost every day. Since I’m older and overweight, I don’t feel comfortable in skinny jeans, but I think they look great on lots of people.
Lynndee says
Jeans will always be one of my most faves to wear. I will have to get me a pair of those side stripe jeans. So cute!

I am definitely not a trendy person. I wear what is comfortable. I don’t like low rise jeans. They are so uncomfortable! I had a pair of skinny jeans that I loved but the company stopped making them. Now when I like jeans, I buy quite a few pairs.

I love wearing jeans! It’s more comfortable for me when I go out. I like the printed jeans!
Marysa says
I used to love jeans, but now I am more of a yoga pant person. However I do like these trends and jeans have come a long way, I really think they are more comfortable than they used to be.
Jessica says
I love jeans! (hence my blog name, Jeans and a Teacup…haha). My favorite are high rise jeans.

I think having that pair of go to jeans is so important. I do love a high waist for my jeans especially after having two kiddos too!

I used to have a pair of embroidered jeans like 15 years ago. I wish I still had them 😀
