I haven’t done chit-chat posts for ages and so here’s a small roundup of 2017 and my New Year’s resolutions and plans.
Well, let’s start this post with a little roundup of 2017 and year of the Rooster. Although, the year of the Rooster hasn’t ended, yet, then I just can’t wait for it to be over. The year 2017 wasn’t very lucky one for me. In January 2017 I had a miscarriage and that kind of set the tone for my whole year. I thought about writing a blog post about that… I even started it several times, but just hit delete after a paragraph or two …
Some great projects ended unexpectedly and I was and still kind of am a bit sad about that. Especially one project that just ended without any explanation and when I hadn’t heard from them and emailed and asked about it then I got a reply that oh sorry we forgot to email you about the budget cut and that the project ended 🙁
The last week wasn’t the best either because I received some bad news that one of my blog collaborations with a brand ended because of a budget cut and unfortunately my blog didn’t make the cut. I worked with them almost 2.5 years and so I still feel bad about the whole situation and it feels like I was fired. I have actually never been fired, but I guess it feels kind of the same. But I’m hopeful and I believe that if one door closes, another one will open 🙂
One of my goals for 2017 was to improve my race times. Although I planned to participate in more races I ended up going to only one. At least I improved my time there 🙂 I was also signed up for a half-marathon in September in Tallinn, but unfortunately I managed to get cold and so I spent my race day at home sick in bed 🙁 But I am happy that I attended Scoutsrännak in April (30km cross-country military endurance event) and 42km walking event in August. I absolutely loved these two events! Since I’m pregnant then I will have to skip Scoutsrännak this year, but I hope that maybe I will be able to take part in the walking marathon in August 😛
When it comes to New Year’s resolutions, then I always make some, although, I sometimes fail with those so bad 😛 Especially with the last years workout and weight loss one 😀 Well, when it comes to my this year’s resolutions, then, since I’m 15 weeks pregnant then I didn’t even bother with the super popular weight loss promise 😛 But my goals for the year 2018 are to increase my blog traffic and income; walk/run at least 50km a week; to read at least 1 useful book a month; work on my photography and photo editing skills and do at least 1 video a week. The goal that I’m most worried about is the first one – blog traffic and income one because the last two years have been very steady with too low blog income. But I hope I can make it work this year 🙂
I also have to work on my mood board for our apartment renovation. Next year (in 2019) we will have to do some smaller and bigger works in our apartment. The biggest and most expensive work will be done in the bathroom and at this point, I still haven’t figured out what exactly I want to see in our bathroom. At the moment our bathroom wall and floor are covered with white tiles. In one hand I like that the bathroom is white, but the other hand those tiles are just soooo boring and outdated! And so I have now been looking for the perfect tiles and still haven’t figured out what I would love. But I’m sure I’ll figure it out at some point 😛
Also, our shower has to be upgraded because the one we currently have is just too old. And another thing that I thought I would never need in my bathroom – I want mirror lights! I just miss those so bad when doing my makeup in the bathroom.
Luckily the kitchen, our son’s bedroom and the master bedroom look okay, but the living room needs some makeover. I’m not sure if we go with paint or wallpaper, but I do know that the ceiling light has to be changed. At the moment we have there one that we grabbed in a hurry because we needed something quick and would be in our budget. But now I have been looking 5 light chandelier because I think it would be a better option 😉
So this was a short roundup of 2017 and my New Year’s resolutions and plans for 2018. What plans and goals have you set for 2018?

Aaaaawwwwww…..am so sorry to hear about that, Leelo! No one should ever go through what you went through. I send you a big hug and kiss.
My resolution for 2018, is to love more, each day! I realised I hadn’t done much of that, in 2017.
