Although I haven’t travelled the world, then at least once a year we try to have at least a one-week holiday abroad. Last summer we went to Crete and in the fall we actually had a 3-week trip to the US. We started from New York, visited Philadelphia, Atlantic City, Washington DC and then drove to Miami Beach. I absolutely loved that trip and I hope I can visit the US again soon!

There are many travel tips and everyone has their favourite ones and today I decided to share with you some of my favourite travel tips.
Be Flexible and Stay Positive
Sometimes things just won’t go as planned. Flights might get cancelled or delayed and there’s really not much you can do about that. Just be patient and don’t get stressed out.
Choose the Best Means of Travelling
There are different ways to get from one place to another. Some people love to travel by train, some prefer the bus, and for some, the only way to travel is by plane. Commercial flights aren’t very flexible when it comes to flight schedules. Private jets are sometimes a better choice because you can schedule your flight at the time of the day that suits you best. When you are a frequent traveler then a private jet card can save you a lot of time.
Make a List
I’m not very good at making lists, however, when it comes to travelling, then I think it’s better to back everything necessary and so this is one of those rare occasions when I actually make a list of things I have to take with me.
Plan Your Outfits
When I start packing then I usually have a heap of clothes that I would love to wear, but there’s no point of taking all those clothes with me because I probably won’t even wear them. So I just start putting together outfits in my mind. When it comes to dresses vs separates, then I actually prefer separates because this way I can create more outfits. Also, it’s great idea to change your outfits with accessories. If it seems you don’t have the right accessories to take with you then you can always do some shopping at your destination and buy some 😉 Btw, prefer clothes that won’t need ironing because the last thing you want is to run around the hotel or a place you are staying looking for an iron and ironing board 😉
Buy a Travel Insurance
I have been lucky so far and I haven’t had any problems while travelling. Some say that travel insurance is just a waste of money, however, I think it’s better to be safe than sorry and so I always also buy a travel insurance just in case something goes wrong.
Find Interesting and Entertaining Travel Companions
I don’t like to travel alone. I usually travel with my hubby, however, if I should ever go somewhere alone, then I would prefer a female travel buddy. Tourlina is an app that will help you find solo travelers, who have similar interests as you. It’s basically like a non-romantic dating app for female travellers, who would rather travel with a woman than with a man. Tourlina manually verifies each new user and makes sure that the user is a woman and not a man or fake. This means that Tourlina is able to provide you with a much safer international female travel buddy experience.

Don’t Forget Your Camera Battery & Phone Charger
Seriously! You don’t want to end up without running around local stores looking for a charger nor not taking a photo of that gorgeous view just because you thought your camera’s battery will last weeks and weeks!

Prefer a Bag with Wheels
When we travelled to the US then I had a wheeled suitcase, however, my hubby had a big backpack. Since we did a quite a lot of shopping then by the time it was time to head to the airport to fly back home, his bag was heavy and he actually said himself he should have taken a suitcase with wheels 😀
Don’t Pack a Footwear That You Haven’t Worn Before
That new pair of cute shoes that seem so comfy might end up giving you blisters and with blisters that hurt your feet, it’s not much fun to go sightseeing or wander around the town. I always prefer comfy shoes, sandals and boots that won’t cause me problems.
Don’t Forget Sunscreen, Sunglasses & a Hat
Since from time to time I end up with a red itchy rash caused by the sun, then I don’t want to ruin my trip because of that. Therefore, I always make sure I have at least SPF30 sunscreen with me.
Back Everything Up
Everything means EVERYTHING! Starting from your laptop and smartphone to your passport and other important documents. I always back up my photos to the cloud, so in case my laptop or phone will get lost, I still have my photos.
Carry a Pack of Tissues and Some Moistened Wipes With You
A small pack of Tissues don’t take much room in your bag or make it heavy, but you may never know when you find yourself in a toilet without any toilet paper etc. I also carry some individually packaged wet wipes with me, so I can easily clean my hands.
So these were some of my favourite travel tips. Do you have any favourite travel tips? Share them in the comments section 😉

These are excellent tips for all travelers because nothing is more upsetting than to arrive at your destination and find you left an important item at home… yes start with a list. My camera and phone charger are very important on my list.

These are all good tips, especially the one to not wear new shoes (lesson learned the hard way). I love that you chose to drive almost the whole east coast when you were in the U.S.

Great list of tips! I am definitely a list maker – but agree that it’s important to be flexible (and buy insurance!)

I love traveling! These are really great tips. I forgot my camera once so I went to buy a new one!!! I would add that I like to have a small camera you can bring everywhere and that goes in the water too. I find it really useful when I cannot bring the big one or when at the beach or in a wet environment!
