In order to have a beautiful smile, oral hygiene is very important. Good dental health starts with brushing and flossing your teeth daily. This is something that needs to be done twice a day, in the morning and evening. It is very important to brush your teeth thoroughly because this way you can prevent a wide range of problems ranging from plaque buildup to painful cavities.
Also it is very important to floss your teeth daily because no matter how good is your toothbrush or how well you brush your teeth, there will be still some left over food etc trapped between your teeth. I know flossing may sometimes seem like a bothersome chore, however, I love how clean my teeth feel after flossing and so this is a must-do step for me 🙂
Although flossing and brushing is a must, then also eating healthy is important because healthy teeth start with the food you eat. For example, you should add some cheese, yoghurt, leafy greens, carrots, celery, apples and almonds to your menu. And you should avoid smoking and eating sugar-containing foods like candy, soft drinks, fruit drinks etc.
One very important step in order to have healthy teeth is visiting a dentist about twice a year for regular check-ups. Regular visits can help spot dental health problems early on when treatment is likely to be simpler and more affordable.
Although there are many things WE CAN do to make our teeth stay healthy, then there are some things that are out of our control. For example, there isn’t much we can do about crooked teeth or misaligned bite ourselves and so we have to visit a dentist at some point. However, dental braces aren’t cheap 🙁
