So, you’ve been invited to prom and now you are worried about how you will look on your special night. The guy of your dreams has asked you out and you want to look your best. You’ve chosen the perfect prom dress on the Ax Paris website and you have all your jewellery and accessories ready to go. Now what to do about your skin? Here are 5 tips to help you achieve perfect skin prior to prom night.
1. Determine Your Basic Skin Type
The first thing you need to do is determine your basic skin type. Do you have oily skin, dry skin or perhaps a combination? Most girls have a combination of oily to dry on varying parts of the face so it is vital to know exactly what skin type you are and then you can begin to use products designed especially for your skin. This is not only the first step, but the most important because everything else you do to achieve perfect skin depends on using products that are developed for the type of skin you have.
2. Get into a Skincare Routine
It is important to get into a skincare routine. Make sure to cleanse your skin morning and night. Never go to bed with the day’s makeup on and always make sure to use cleansing products exactly as directed. If you have any blemishes or are prone to acne, this is vital to achieving perfect skin. You must keep it cleansed well to ensure that you are not blocking any pores that need to ‘breathe’ in order to stay free of build-up that leads to blemishes.
3. Use a Cleansing Product Made for Your Skin Type
You want to look your very best for prom so make sure that you use cleansing products designed for your basic skin type. Some products may be too strong whilst others may not remove enough oils to keep your skin free from clogged pores. This may be the case if your skin tends to be oily. Stronger cleansers may be called for and if you have sensitive skin, make sure you buy only hypo-allergenic skin cleansing products.
4. Selecting the Right Moisturiser
Here again, you need to use the right moisturiser. Some girls with oily skin think that they don’t need a moisturiser but this couldn’t be further from the truth. Oily skin is not equal to skin that has adequate moisture retained in each cell so a moisturiser is always called for. Just be careful to choose a moisturiser that is developed for your skin type which would fall into the basic oily or dry skin categories.
5. Choose Makeup Made for Your Skin Type
Although you want to wear makeup that accentuates the best features on your face, bear in mind that not all makeup is created equal. Just as in the previous two tips, you need to choose makeup that is designed for your skin type. It is advisable that you begin wearing this makeup, especially the foundation, long before the night of the prom. This will help to ensure that your skin stays fresh, clean and free from blemishes that can be caused by wearing makeup that isn’t suited to your skin type.
Going to prom is a special time in the life of any girl and of course you want to have lovely skin. Get into a routine now and by the time prom night arrives, you will have the healthiest, most radiant skin imaginable. Now go out and have a great time!
