Cargo Cosmetics The Essentials Eye Shadow palette

A few weeks ago I ordered Cargo Cosmetics The Essentials Eye Shadow palette from feelunique.com. It finally arrived last week and so here are my swatches and short review of this perfect every day eye shadow palette.

Cargo Cosmetics The Essentials Eye Shadow palette comes in a sturdy carton box with magnetic closure. I absolutely love the design of this palette – the lovely picture of New York skyline, makes this palette unique.

This palette contains 12 neutral eye shadows that will be perfect for every day use and for more dramatic looks. There’s also large mirror in the lid, dual-ended eyeshadow brush and eye liner pencil.

If you have read my eyeshadow posts before, then you probably know that I’m not really fan of the brushes and applicators that come with eye shadow palettes. Well, when it comes to The Essentials Eye Shadow palette dual-ended eyeshadow brush, then for my great surprise it actually works nicely and you can actually use it for creating eye makeup. This brush has soft bristles that pick up color well.

I have kind of love-hate relationship with eye liner pencils. Some of them are so hard that it is almost impossible to apply it without hurting your eyelid and some are just so soft that they will smear like crazy. The eye liner pencil that comes with The Essentials palette is good – it is nice and soft and easy to apply. My only complaint about this eye liner pencil so far would be that when I use it on my lash line then it looks more like dark dark grey and not black.

The paraben free eye shadows in this palette are simply lovely. They are soft and easy to apply and blend. Their pigmentation is good (of course nothing can beat the result with primer 😉 ). There is almost no fallout during application and they stay on all day when used with primer 🙂 LOVE!

Overall I’m super happy with Cargo Cosmetics The Essentials Eye Shadow palette and it is just so ME palette. All the shades in this palette are perfect for both my day- and night-time looks. I like that this palette contains nice variety of matte and satin shades and so thanks to the eye liner pencil and eye shadow brush this truly is essential eye shadow palette.
