Almost a month ago I shared with you my review of Boots Essentials Fragrance Free Eye Make Up Remover Lotion (see the post here) and today I have another product to show you from Boots Essentials range. I purchased Boots Essentials Cucumber Facial Wash in early December, because it was really cheap (it cost 1.50£) and with 3 for 2 offer I ended up paying only 1£ for it.
On Boots website this facial wash is described as a product enriched with soothing cucumber and vitamins. It is promised to effectively remove makeup and excess oils leaving skin thoroughly cleansed and refreshed.
My opinion of Boots Essentials Cucumber Facial Wash
Boots Cucumber Facial Wash comes in a plastic tube with very simple design. The facial wash itself is green and it has nice cucumber scent. Once applied on wet skin it lathers nicely. For some reason it reminds me more of a shower gel then a typical facial wash. It usually makes my skin nicely clean, but sometimes when I’m wearing more makeup, then it isn’t very effective for removing it all.
Luckily is hasn’t caused me any skin problems, but just be aware that if this facial wash gets in your eyes then it will sting a lot. Boots Cucumber Facial Wash is promised to be suitable for all skin types, but I do feel that for my normal to dry skin, it is bit too drying 🙁
Overall Boots Essentials Cucumber Facial Wash is an okay cleanser. It doesn’t remove heavier makeup, makes my normal to dry skin bit too dry and unfortunately I can’t feel it refreshing my skin.
Would I purchase it again? Even though it has very budget friendly price, then no, I wouldn’t buy it again.
