On Beauty by Miss L today: Garnier Olia review. Last week I dyed my hair again. This time I decided to try my mom´s favorite hair dye – Garnier Olia. She uses shade 5 (I think), but since I needed blonde shade then I chose shade 9.0 Light Blonde. Garnier Olia 9.0 Light Blonde is 1 tone darker than my hair was before, but since my hair looked just way too white then 9.0 seemed the best choice.

Garnier Olia is described as 1st oil-powered permanent home hair dye. It contains 60% of oils and is formulated without ammonia. Garnier Olia has created a sensorial & enjoyable home hair colouring routine which includes:
- a unique and easy application – the velvety cream texture blends quickly and easily without dripping
- a delicate flower fragrance
- a drop-shaped bottle that fits perfectly into the palm of the hand allowing a precise application.
Garnier Olia is promised to
- provide maxiumum colour performance
- colour after colour, improves the visible quality of hair. Hair feels softer and looks shinier
- provide a beautiful lavish, vivid long-lasting colour
- cover up to 100% grey hair
Garnier Olia hair colour box contains almost all the typical items that are found in most hair colour boxes: developer cream, colourant cream, applicator bottle, after colour care, gloves and instructions.
Using Garnier Olia hair dye was easy. I first removed all my jewellery and put on an old t-shirt. Then I mixed developer and colourant cream in applicator bottle, put on gloves and applied hair dye on to my hair. Just as promised this hair dye was thick and creamy and didn´t drip.
Most hair dyes stink, because they contain ammonia (and some that doesn´t contain it, still stink :S ), but this one didn´t have this unpleasant fragrance. I wouldn´t call it a flower scent though. What I liked about Garnier Olia hair dye is that it didn´t irritate my scalp! 🙂 Rinsing hair dye out was just as easy as the application process. The after color care was really nice and made my hair so soft and easy to comb again.
And here is before and after. I took all photos in natural daylight.
Overall I´m happy with the result. Of course I would be even happier if the result would be completely even, but lets face it – if your hair has been highlighted as mine, and you try to dye it darker at home with regular hair dye, then it just will not happen after the first time and there will be difference in shade between roots and the lengths.
Would I purchase Garnier Olia hair dye again? YES!
Btw even though I don´t have gray hair, than my mom has and what she loves about Garnier Olia hair dye is that it actually covers all her gray hair 🙂
So this was my Garnier Olia review. Have you already used it or would you use it in the future?

When I do my roots at home, I just do my roots not the whole head. Also I mix my own hi-lift and developer. I can’t stand when people leave links on my blog back to their own pages but I have two posts that might interest you about doing your roots. Just incase you want to try a new set of hair dyes.

I usually do my roots only, but since this time I had darker shade then my previous shade than I had to apply the dye to my whole head 🙂

Beautiful color and you make it sound easy and fun – I’ve never done my own hair – used to do my mother’s for her when I was a teen! Love your new color and I like the bit of shading, it looks natural and beautiful – great info post!
