I´m pretty sure most of you have heard about Derma Rollers and Vitamin C facial serums and so my today´s posts is about two Skin Secret products: Skin Secret Derma 540 and Vitamin C Facial Serum.
Skin Secret Derma 540
Derma 540 is made of Titanium alloy needles which are 1.0mm long and there is 540 needles. Micro needle technology allows body to create collagen for natural and fast results. It will also allow other lotions and serums to penetrate the skin. Thanks to this it is promised that you´ll achieve visible and noticeable results just in a few days.

My Derma Roller arrived well packed. It comes with a clear plastic case so you can store your derma roller safely and hygienically. The Derma 540 has good ergonomic handle and so it is convenient to hold and use. When it comes to those needles then they do look pretty scary.
How to use it
- Thoroughly cleanse skin twice to remove all traces of makeup. Pat dry with a towel.
- For best results use Derma Roller with a topical application of hydrating serum and perform the treatment PM.
- Before using Derma Roller make sure it is sterilised!
- Using sterilised Derma Roller, roll up and down the skin 3-4 times using an equal speed and light pressure.
- First do it vertically, then horizontally and then diagonally across both ways. Complete this on each area to be treated. Avoid eyes and lips.
- The treatment should take 5-10 minutes and can be repeated 2-3 times a week.
- Apply a hydrating serum and/or moisturiser and massage into skin until absorbed.
My opinion
I have seen YT videos of people using Derma Rollers and believe these videos look painful! When I was offered an opportunity to review this Derma Roller then I was bit scared, because I´m not fond of needles or pain. When I saw my Derma Roller for the first time then it didn´t look that scary and so I hoped that using it will be a pleasure 🙂
Well I can´t really say that it was a pleasure. The first times I tried using it I couldn´t even finish the whole rolling procedure because it hurt so bad and I really tried not to apply much pressure when rolling. The third time was better and I was able to finish the procedure. Rolling my cheeks and chin wasn´t that painful, whereas rolling my forehead was and still is a painful procedure.
When it comes to the positive sides of using Derma Roller then I loved how my skin felt after using it. It seems that serums and moisturisers are working much better after using Derma 540.
I have used my Derma 540 for one month about 2 times a week and so there probably should be some promised visible results, right? Well so far I can´t see much difference (read: my fine lines are still there 😛 ), but I will continue using it and once I see some results I´ll let you know 🙂
Overall using Derma 540 has been very interesting experience. Even though I can´t see much results, yet, I will continue using it in the hopes of better looking skin.
Skin Secret Vitamin C Facial Serum
Skin Secret Vitamin C Facial Serum is promised to stimulate the synthesis of collagen which makes skin appear years younger and more vibrant. It´s antioxidant properties reduce skin damage caused by the sun, pollution and cigarette smoke. Vitamin C will help to stimulate skin´s rate of exfoliation for a brighter and smoother complexion. This serum will diminish the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles.
Vitamin C Facial Serum comes in a bottle with pump. The serum itself has watery gel-like consistency. It doesn´t have any scent or color. Once applied on the skin it absorbs quickly without leaving any greasy, oily or sticky residues.
My opinion
I have read and heard many great things about Vitamin C serums and so I was happy to try this product. I have been using this serum since early November and I like it a lot! I use it every night before applying my night cream. Before using any serums I usually didn´t really like mirror image, because my skin looked tired, but after I started using it, my skin looks brighter and healthy. As I mentioned before then I haven´t noticed any change in my fine lines, but maybe since I see myself everyday really can´t tell the difference 😀
Overall I really like this serum, because I feel that it has improved my skin a lot! Would I purchase it again? YES!
