A month ago I introduced a children´s book Terry Treetop Finds New Friends by Tali Carmi. Today I have another children´s book by Tali Carmi – Terry Treetop and the Lost Egg. For those who don´t know who is Terry – he is a chubby five-year-old with freckles on his nose and he loves to climb trees.
In Terry Treetop and the Lost Egg Terry goes camping with his family. Once they arrive at the camp site Terry finds an egg lying on the grass under the tree. Terry puts the egg in a small basket and promises to find its home. He goes around and asks animals if the egg belongs to them. Finally he finds an empty nest up on the tree …..
This is cute book for little ones. Just as Terry Treetop Finds New Friends this book also have colorful illustrations that catch my 2 year old son´s attention. But what makes this book different is that this one rhymes. At first it was kind of distracting and difficult to read, but at some point it started making sense. This book is also educational, because children will learn that not only birds lay eggs, but also turtles, crocodiles and frogs do. Also it is shown how animal moms take care of their eggs.
About the author: “Tali Carmi spent her childhood in a small town in the desert. She memorized and knew by heart many books that her parents read to her when she was very little.
