One Community: May 2014

May 5, 2014 By Miss L

onecommunity-nonames-1024x682Hi! Time for this month´s One community post. One Community is a photo blogging project in which participants photograph their lives and communities with a theme in mind. The goal is to both showcase similarities and differences in our communities worldwide – and bring us all closer together in understanding through art. The theme varies by month. This project is hosted by Sarah from Beauty School Dropout. The inspiration words for May were chosen by Sue from No Bad Days and the words are five, mother, recipe and remember.
This months words were difficult. Word “mother” easy, but with all the rest I struggled a lot! So here are my photos.

Five

This word was difficult, because taking a photo of plain number 5 would have been just way too easy, but I had to take the easy way out, because I just didn´t have any better ideas. So in the photo you can see part of little mr.R´s puzzle mat.

Mother

In this photo you can see me with my mom. This photo was taken in 1984 and I am 11 months old on it. I love old black and white photos and that´s why I chose this one.

 Recipe

This is apple pie recipe. My mom gave me this recipe last year and I love this pie. It is very easy to make and its delicious.

For this apple pie you need:

  • 200g of butter
  • 250g of sugar
  • 4 eggs
  • 250g of potato flour
  • 3 table spoons flour
  • 2 teaspoons of baking powder

Pre-heat the oven to 200C. Mix the potato flour, regular flour and baking powder. Melt the butter and mix with sugar and eggs. Then add flour mix. Stir and then put the dough on the oven pan. Add apples (just as much as you wish) and some sugar and cinnamon. Then put it in the oven and bake about 30 minutes.

Remember

This is a photo of my blue notebook –  the place where I write down all the important things that I have to do so I wouldn´t forget them.

The “five” is hard for me too :). I love old photos too and the one of you and mom is precious. That is a really easy pie recipe. It’s even more wonderful because it’s been passed down.

I love the idea of doing a project like this, but it will have to wait for the fall. I have decided to start scaling back on my blog for the summer so I can spend more time with my kids.

How interesting, I’ve never seen a pie dough recipe that uses potato flour before! I bet it is tasty. (Can you really go wrong with pie? Of course not!) Thanks for linking up with us again this month.

It was first time for me, too to use potato flour in pie and I really thought that there was some kind of mistake in the recipe. But the pie does taste delicious 🙂
