We all want to help to save the planet, look after our bodies better and reduce the amount of chemicals we use on our skin, but we all have our preconceptions about natural beauty. We’re not entirely sure that organic products, that have the very best of intentions by using natural minerals and ingredients, can offer the same flawless, high-quality finish that we have come to expect from some mainstream brands. Additionally, we are so used to the slick, widespread marketing of our go-to makeup and skincare brands that the best natural beauty products have been kept far from public view. Ultimately, we may find it hard to break with our spending habits. There are, however, many, many benefits of investing in natural skincare, and their beneficial impacts on our bodies and the environment cannot be underestimated. So many standard skincare products contain aggressive chemicals that can be damaging to local environments and ecosystems when in production, and can go on to irritate and upset skin, whether it’s naturally sensitive or not. At Mary Jane Fashion, we think that by swapping your standard skincare products for these natural alternatives, you will see a healthy change to your skin and will be contributing to a more sustainable and environmentally friendly planet.
Body lotion – Absolution
French company Absolution is a skincare brand that aims to provide an organic, eco-friendly alternative to established beauty products. EcoCert certified and containing complex, enriching formulas of natural oils and herbal extracts, for example sesame seed oil, shea butter, rosemary and orange oil, this body lotion will nourish and replenish skin as well as leaving a gorgeous, fresh aroma on your skin. Free from harmful parabens, PEG, phthalates and synthetic fragrances, the cream is light, actively brightening and firming your skin. It is unisex, suitable for both men and women, is also suitable for vegetarians and made from recyclable packaging. As a result, using this cream will help you to reduce your carbon footprint, support the protection of animals and ensure that your skin is only absorbing natural products.
Lip balm – Eos Organic lip balm
Your lips are some of the most sensitive areas of your body and need to be constantly nourished and protected to prevent chapping and soreness. Eos, short for ‘evolution of smooth’, is an American company that prides itself on providing lip balms that are 100% natural and 95% organic, leading them to be officially accredited as USDA certified organic. Coming in a variety of flavours, we love their Honeysuckle Honeydew version that contains the light extracts of these delicate flowers, as well as the deep nourishing properties of jojoba, shea butter, coconut oil and beeswax. Perfect for everyday wear and coming in a unique spherical container of recyclable plastic, this lip balm is sure to become a handbag staple.
Exfoliator – Living Nature
Founded in 1987, Living Nature is a company hailing from New Zealand that provides 100% natural beauty and skincare products. Unbeknownst to many, New Zealand is the home to a fantastic array of indigenous plants and herbs that can’t be found anywhere else in the world, which they use to create unique and transformative natural formulas. Their exfoliator is no exception, using flowers and leaves as well as beeswax and jojoba in their recipe. The exfoliator is gentle but effective thanks to its natural consistency, whilst its anti-microbial action will leave your skin cleansed and refreshed. Certified natural by the BDIH and made from a recyclable plastic tube, using this exfoliator will be beneficial to both your skin and to the environment.

Love natural alternatives but sometimes, I do use some already established creams on the market and combine them with Primrose and Wheat Germ Oil
